Classified ads are known to be a great way to generate phone leads.
It gets even better when you are able to track the ads that receive the best calls that lead to a sale or conversion.
And it's quite simple to setup:
Add a tracking phone number and assign a unique extension number to your ad as shown below:
Copy the tracking phone number with extension, then go to your ad posting site and paste it into your ad description before submitting your ad
Now when a call is received, the lead will be prompted to enter the extension (or ad or id) number.
Then the call will be forwarded to you. The call will be tracked to collect metrics showing how effective the ad is.
You can review the call reports to see the number of calls received, the date and times, the caller number, location, how long the call lasted and other vital metrics.
